Despite the fact that we recently had snow in Vancouver, I’m starting to get ready for spring. And what does that mean? Picking up some new makeup, of course. Since I’ve decided to start blogging again (not that I was ever consistent to begin with), and I’ve changed the concept behind it, I figured it was a good way to start anew.
I went a bit crazy with Sephora purchases, and picked up a few Charlotte Tilbury items at Nordstroms as well.
Tarte: Tarteist Pro to Go Palette: I picked up this eyeshadow palette and was immediately in love. It has 6 gorgeous shades, with 3 of them being mattes. There are 2 shadows that are almost duo-chromes, and they are GORGEOUS! This palette is ridiculously pigmented, and it’s so easy to make different eye looks with it!
Tarte: Tarteist Pro Glow to Go Palette: Once again, the Tarte product is stunning. The highlighting shades are luminescent, and easy to build up to something intense, but also easily wearable for the day to day. They are finely milled powders that don’t have chunks of glitter- like some other highlighters. The contour shade is pretty, but it personally isn’t my favourite. I find it a bit patchy, and much prefer Tarte’s Park Ave Princess bronzer.
Makeup Forever: Pro Sculpting Palette: I haven’t tried this one yet, but the shades seem great. The contour shade is a perfect cool one to get a natural looking contour, with no orange tone to it and the highlighting shades look perfect for me.
Too Faced: Sweethearts Bronzer: GORGEOUS! I love it! It’s a shimmery bronzer, so I don’t use it to contour, but it just adds the most beautiful touch of colour to my face, with it being winter and being on the very pale side.
Estée Lauder: Double Wear Powder: Arguably my favourite powder foundation at the moment, this doubles as a stunning setting powder, especially when I’m doing a super light coverage foundation.
Charlotte Tilbury: Airbrush Flawless Finish Powder: It’s amazing. It does exactly what it claims to. It seemingly blurs imperfections, and sets the foundation beautifully without adding any extra coverage, and it never makes my makeup cakey.
Charlotte Tilbury: Cheek to Chic Blush in Ecstasy: It is a gorgeous blush. The outer ring makes for a stunning highlight, and the centre looks perfect on the apples of the cheeks. I blend it all together to make a luminous blush and I couldn’t love it more!
Too Faced: Sweet Peach Gloss in Papa Don’t Peach: This was surprisingly difficult to get my hands on, as it appears to be everyone’s favourite. It is beautifully moisturizing on the lips and gives a light wash of colour.
Benefit: They’re Real Lip Kit: There are 4 lovely shades in the kit, and they are designed with 2 shades in each stick to help contour your lips. It is a very light effect, and not too dramatic which I enjoy.
Charlotte Tilbury: Lipliner in Pillowtalk: YES YES YES!!!! This is honestly the best lipliner on the planet. It is the perfect shade to overdraw my lips without it looking ridiculous. Simply put, it is FANTASTIC!
Charlotte Tilbury: Hot Lips in Miranda May: This lip colour was inspired by Miranda Kerr, and it is gorgeous. It’s a lip colour that I am wearing all the time since I’ve purchased it and highly recommend to everyone.
Fresh: Sugar Cream Lip Treatment in Blush: For anyone with chapped lips this will be your lifesaver. It’s more moisturizing than Papa Don’t Peach, and is an actual lip treatment with a hint of colour.
Marc Jacobs: Highliner in (Earth)Quake: Such a lovely deep brown eyeliner. I’ve only worn it once but it didn’t budge once. Highly pigmented as well.
Also in the pictures were the Urban Decay All Nighter and Quick Fix sprays, as well as the Optical Illusion primer. Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation primer. Tarte Rainforest of the Sea setting spray and finally the Caudalie Grape Water. These guys are all great. The All Nighter spray is more of a matte finish, whereas the Tarte one is a dewy finish. The UD primer is my favourite over the Smashbox and the Grape Water is beautiful when doing skincare.
Well, this was a huge post for me, and if you made it this far, thank you! I hope you all have a wonderful day, and leave any comments down below please 🙂
